Ingredients
Chicken
1 cup of water
A packet of Trade Joes chicken stock
Instructions
4 minutes on high with a natural release for 8 minutes.
Alternatives
Around 12 minutes seems to be a key.
You could try 12 minutes on high with an immediate quick release.
You could also try 8 minutes on high with a natural release for 4 minutes.
I’ve seen it instructed all three ways in various recipes.
Notes
- I’ve had good luck with “normal” sized chicken breasts cooking all the way through and coming out tender. However, I’ve purchased thicker ones that barely have got up to 150 degrees, so you really have to gauge what time you should use. This obviously becomes easier through the experience of using your Instant Pot. It’s not the end of the world to need to cook it for a couple of extra minutes. The pot gets back up to pressure fast. I’d rather do a second pressure cooking of chicken that was undercooked, than over cook it and have rubbery chicken!
